There are different federal health insurance regulations and incentives for businesses depending on the number of employees they have. If your business has 49 or fewer employees, you are considered a small business and do not have to provide health insurance for your employees. If you have 50 or more and you choose not to offer health insurance, you could be subject to the Employer Shared Responsibility Payment in 2015 or 2016.
